Check-in for teams (Coaches / Team Managers only) - Starting in 2012 we will have online check-in.
Get medical assistance - See the field marshal on your field. For serious injuries, leave the player(s) on the field. Our trainers and EMTs will come to the player(s). The tournament staff has radio communications directly to park police and emergency services.
Warm up - Teams are encouraged to warm up for their games anywhere but in the goal area of the main fields. This greatly minimizes field wear and tear in front of the goals.
Cool down - Visit the splash park.
Park the car- At the SoccerPlex only park in designated parking spaces. Warning - The park police aggressively ticket parking violations at the SoccerPlex and the fine is $50. Please make sure you only park in designated parking spaces.
Park when the gates to a field are locked - You probably arrived too early. Gates to the parking areas adjacent to the playing areas don't open until an hour before the first game. Come back a little later. If you park along the main road, be prepared for a parking ticket.
Pets - Pets are not allowed.
Tournament standings - Tournament standings will be posted on this website and you can also view scores and standings at the tournament HQ located just outside of the Discovery Sports Center. This web site will be updated as results are received during the tournament.
Tell us how to make the tournament better - On tournament days, please visit the tournament headquarters staff in front of the Discovery Sports Center or at the tournament tent at the Polo Grounds. If you have a concern, we'll do our best to fix it. Your thoughts and comments are always welcome and you can also send an email to the tournament director, everett@hovencamp.com.
Weather cancellations - Check the August Cup main web site, the SoccerPlex web site www.mdsoccerplex.org or check via phone by calling the SoccerPlex weather hotline 301-528-1497.
If there are Thunderstorms during the tournament - Play will be suspended when adverse weather appears. Your car is an excellent, safe choice to ride out storms. Your team's metal framed canopy on the sideline is a bad choice.
Get taped up - Need your ankle taped? Visit our professional trainers at the hub sites or near the Discovery Sports Center. The trainers are also available to answer your training needs.
Find a restroom when you're at the SoccerPlex – There are restrooms located in brick buildings. Also there is a bathroom in the Discovery Sports Center but cleats are not allowed. They are accessible from an outside door and are located on the stadium side, near the front corner the building.
Have parents and spectators sit - The opposite side of the field from your team bench.
Eat - The SoccerPlex operates two concession stands offering grilled burgers and dogs at two locations outside the Discovery Sports Center. Proceeds from these stands help to support the Montgomery Soccer Foundation.
Picnic - In South Germantown recreational park. The park offers four covered picnic shelters with grills and a comfort station. A great place to tailgate and picnic. Reservations recommended.
Dump your trash and recycle in the trash and recycle bins. Please do a quick trash policing of your team area after every game and warm up session.
Get more tournament shirts - Tournament shirts will be available on tournament days at the Multiple locations around the SoccerPlex and also at the tournament headquarters outside the Discovery Center.
