Refund Policy
There will be no refunds of tournament fees except to teams not accepted into the tournament. Full refunds will be given to all teams not accepted into the tournament no later than August 1, 2010.
There will be no refunds for partial cancellation of the tournament for any reason. In the event of a full tournament cancellation (no games played), the tournament intends to make partial refunds of team application fees. The amount to be refunded, if any, will be determined at that time.
A word about the August Cup refund policy - In the event of a tournament cancellation the August Cup would love to be able to provide significant refunds to all teams. Unfortunately, non-refundable expenses incurred by the August Cup (Like the Maryland SoccerPlex) prevent the tournament from providing significant refunds to the teams participating in the tournament.
The tournament staff will make every effort to seed teams in brackets, divisions and age groups to provide competitive levels of play for every team. The August Cup reserves the right to seed a team in any age group, sex, division, or bracket of play. No refund will be provided to teams seeded outside of their "normal" age, gender or skill level bracket. No refund will be provided the event of a forfeiture or disqualification of an opponent.
Teams found to have misrepresented their proper age or gender after acceptance into the tournament may be removed from the tournament without refund.
Maryland based teams playing in the U15-U19 age groups sometimes have scheduling conflicts with high school soccer. The tournament will attempt, but does not guarantee, that your team's schedule can be adjusted to avoid high school soccer conflicts. You may have evening games starting on Friday night as early as 5 PM. Refunds will not be provided if the scheduling conflicts cannot be resolved.
The tournament attempts to schedule games so that coaches with multiple teams in the tournament can be present at as many of their games as possible. However, the tournament does not guarantee that there won't be overlapping games. Teams coached by coaches with multipe teams in the tournament will not be provided with any refunds due to game scheduling conflicts between the multiple teams entered in the tournament. Multi-team coaches should plan on having an assistant coach available.
